History
The
Night Shift began in 1979 as Maione Janitorial Services. It was founded
by David Maione and his brother. They operated out of their home until
1981, at which time they incorporated as Maione Maintenance, Inc. doing
business as “The Night Shift” and moved into the Vestal Professional Building
on Main St. in Vestal. The young brothers attracted much attention and
were featured in MONEY magazine as a business on the “. . . next frontier.”
The 2005 version of The Night Shift is one of continuous improvement.
Located at 2721 East Main Street in Endwell, they are as committed as
ever to advancing to the “next frontier”. As testimony to their consistency,
most of the early management team is still in place. Vice-President Tony
McCartney has been with the company for over 15 years. He has earned the
respect of customers and employees alike with his uncompromising attention
to detail and dedicated service.The Night Shift has attracted top industry
talent and has become the area’s leader in industrial contract cleaning.

Our
strength! We believe that our floor care program is at the core of our
success. Floor care has historically accounted for nearly 50 % of our
revenues and we have developed many of the best floor care professionals
in New York and Pennsylvania. We are capable of quickly delivering quality
results on a very large scale.

Janitorial:
Our
entire operation revolves around our daily janitorial programs. We provide
our customers with professional specifications, we work hard to promote
professional relationships, and we actively participate in a continuous
improvement process to deliver the most professional results.

Scope
of Services Summary:
Although floor care services and daily janitorial programs have always
been at the core of our business, we continue to expand our range of services.
Our eagerness to enter into synergistic partnerships with other industry
experts has helped us to develop complete, comprehensive, unbeatable cleaning
programs.
Long
Range Goals of the Organization
The
Night Shift has incorporated the Core Management Services continuous improvement
process that mirrors many of the elements found in ISO 9000. Also, we
have studied continuous improvement programs used by several Malcolm Baldrige
award winners such as Corning, Federal Express, Ritz-Carlton, and Universal
Card. These examples a have served as the blueprint for our improvements.
The service level we deliver today far exceeds the service level we delivered
last year or the year before. We have recently installed computerized
telephone timekeeping to ensure that our customers get the service hours
they are paying for, and we have recently installed a quick-response communications
system. Also, we are a drug-free workplace - complete with random testing.
We are investing in our future.
